“The Secret Life of Things,” a collection of illustrations by Springfield artist Daniella Yovel, will be on display in the Donald B. Palmer Museum of the Springfield Free Public Library from April 9 through May 3, 2018.
As described by Ms. Yovel, these pencil drawings “take a playful dip into the artist’s interpretation of the paranormal and explore the idea of worlds existing beyond our common perception. Ethereal and light, the images walk the line between the beautiful and the bizarre and have a fairy-tale like quality. Infused with simplicity and subtle humor, the odd women in the drawings hold sweet secrets which they will never reveal.”
Daniella Yovel graduated with an MFA from the University of Cincinnati where she focused on printmaking and Victorian literature. Over the past 15 years, the artist has exhibited her work in Ohio, New York and New Jersey.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to meet the artist at a reception to be held in the Palmer Museum from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 26.
