PLEASE KEEP SENDING SEND YOUR EMAILS BEFORE APRIL 9
Friends,

Please help save the St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival, and all the other traditional, local festivals on the city events field

St. Augustine City Council is considering banning festivals on Francis Field during 155 busy dates each year including Spring, during Nights of Lights (mid-Nov through January) and around holidays.

They may decide and vote as soon as next Monday March 26, 2018, so we need your response before then

Festivals at jeopardy include:
• Romanza’s St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival
• The Lions’ Seafood Festival
• The Rotary’s Rhythm & Ribs Festival
• St. Augustine Art Association’s Art & Craft Festival
• and possibly others

IF YOU SUPPORT THESE LOCAL, HOME-GROWN FESTIVALS HELD ON FRANCIS FIELD, PLEASE MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD.

EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A RESIDENT, YOUR VOICE MATTERS.

Traffic and parking are the issue, regardless if it’s caused primarily by our rapidly growing population or by the festivals. Some City leaders have received a handful of complaints. What they have not heard -YET- is an outcry of the support from the many thousands of happy citizens who attend and love these festivals, regardless of occasional “mobility” inconvenience.

Some City leaders think the easy fix is to move these festivals either to a different time of year, or way out to the County Fairgrounds, 13 miles outside of town.

The St. Augustine Celtic Festival is tied to St. Patrick Day, March 17 and cannot move to an unrelated date, without losing that strong connection.

The Celtic Festival is produced by and for residents of St. Augustine and for our visitors. Those folks probably would not find the Fairgrounds as compelling as downtown St. Augustine, America’s Oldest Celtic City, with the World’s Oldest St. Patrick Day Parade.

PLEASE HELP SAVE OUR LOCAL FESTIVALS AND SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH US AND THE CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS AND CITY STAFF BY EMAIL
