At this Sew Your Own workshop we will be making an upcycled summer tote bag from start to finish, showing you how to measure and cut your fabric, add lining to your bag, add a strap and sew it together. This is a good way to re-use textiles you no longer use, whether it be clothing, bedding, curtains or even fabric you bought a long time ago and have never used! It is also useful to have a shopping bag when you are out and about in the shops instead of plastic bags. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Sewing machine skills required.
Tools and materials will be supplied but if you would rather bring your own textiles to re-use, please bring them along (fabric size needs to be no smaller than a pillowcase).
If you have your own sewing machine, then please bring it to the workshop too (please note your machine must be in working order). If you don’t own a sewing machine, we do have some spares for people to work on.
Booking is required as spaces are limited.
