Yin Yoga is the perfect way to balance our fast paced and busy lifestyles. This is a slow, deep, meditative practice focused on connecting more deeply to ourselves while strengthening and increasing the flexibility of the connective tissues, fascia and joints in the body. You hold various floor poses for a few minutes at a time which will help put safe and positive stress on the deeper layers of the connective tissues. As you work through these poses you are also give space to just breath and simple be with the sensation and breath....sounds so simple but this is probably the most challenging part of the practice. Overall this is a meditative practice that increases flexibility and the health of our tissues and joints, balances the nervous system, deepens our inner connections and balances the mind, body and spirit. We will finish the practice with yoga nidra which is a guided deep relaxation (basically you lie there and do nothing but relax) that will leave you feeling at ease and super relaxed. If you haven't tried this before than you need to!!
Absolutely anyone can benefit from this practice and there is no previous yoga experience required.
