'I'm not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens'
- Woody Allen
Carly-Jay Metcalfe our guest speaker is a hospital and
community spiritual carer. She will lead us with her infectious humour as well as the serious side to looking at what we can learn to do things differently, to what we have learnt culturally about death, dying and grieving.
We live in a society in which death is anathema, an enemy to be avoided at all costs. We worship youth, fitness and health at the expense of the many lessons that can be learned from pain and loss.
Carly will inform and lead us in discussion and open our minds to possibilities and new ways to look at 'Death'
This event is open to any age group, in Carly's words 'you are never too young to die'
