The Bible study in York County that made national headlines is back! We will again offer a three-night introduction to reading the Bible from a progressive, radical, feminist, and queer perspective, and enjoy craft brews.
We will use Jennifer Bird's book, Permission Granted, as our introductory text this year *as a guide*. This isn't a book group, other than a direct engagement with the Bible, and the guide book is optional. But if you'd like to read along over the summer in preparation for the event, we have arranged a special discount for the book. More details will follow.
The nights will involve teaching, open and honest discussion, and fun in a safe space. Recovering evangelicals, literate Baptists (i.e. Methodists), honest liberals, freaks, meeks, post-theists, noncis'ters, confirmation flunkees, and elected magistrates are especially welcomed.
We are proud to be an affiliate event with the York Equality Fest and Equality Week. We are an Open and Affirming congregation that seeks to honor and celebrate the wide spectrum of human diversity.
21+ only. Paid child care will be provided.
