Young at Art Creativity Camp - Turning the Page, Writing + Illustration

Ages: 8-14 years
Cost: $160/week per child
*scholarships and multi-child discounts available

Class Description: Create you own stories, learn to make them fascinating and interesting. Author and educator, Trish Carpenter, will encourage students to explore creative techniques to make their writing stand out. Students will also learn how to illustrate their own stories. Creative dance music will be utilized to encourage emotive writing. Children will be encouraged to share their ideas and ways they found effective in creating their own stories, solving problems together. We will also do some mime, improv and acting.

Teacher: A retired school principal, Trish Carpenter is a published author who loves writing. Her children’s picture books are enjoyed locally and internationally. Steamboat Today and Valley Voice have featured her articles and poems.
Trish is also a Spellbinder. Soda Creek, Strawberry Park Elementary, Montessori, Steamboat Mountain, Heritage Christian, North Routt Charter, Eastern Christian Schools have participated in her creative writing and illustrating seminars. Kindness Workshops are offered through her nonprofit. These involve collaborative discussion, writing and art work.
