The Stevens County Historical Society will be hosting a reading of Clabbered Dirt, Sweet Grass at 2 pm, Saturday April 14th. The story is an account of life on a northern Minnesota farm at the turn of the century. Written by Minnesota native Gary Paulson of Hatchet fame, it is a lovely and lyrical story. Morris native Jim Bruns will perform the reading. The reading will be accompanied by a photo presentation, each divided into four chapters; Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. There will be a short break between each chapter to stretch and get snacks. Guests are welcome to come and go throughout the reading. The show is free and open to the public.
The museum will also have special weekend hours to view the traveling exhibit New Land, New Life: Norwegian Immigration to Minnesota, 1825-1925. SCHS will be open 1:30-4PM.
