Peaceful Second Sundays and Tea Ceremonies

Get Directions

#var:page_name# cover

Even though the Storrier Stearns garden is a perfect backdrop for cultural events, festivals and celebrations, Japanese gardens are designed primarily for contemplation and reflection. Our Second Sunday open days will offer visitors the serenity that has characterized Japanese gardens for centuries. Tables and chairs will be available for picnics and conversation.

Highlighting the day will be tea ceremony demonstrations in the beautiful Niko-an Teahouse where you will be served tea and learn the meaning behind this time-honored Japanese tradition. Ceremonies are at 1pm and 2pm. Space is limited and reservations are necessary.
