Almost $130,000 has been raised for area school and non-profit groups through test-drive fundraisers at Stuart Powell Ford-Lincoln-Mazda; over $72,000 of that via the generosity of Lincoln Motor Company. Through the test-drive fundraiser coming to Stuart Powell on Saturday, June 16th from 9am to 4pm, they hope to raise up to $8,000 for Civil Air Patrol Cadet Squadron 122 through their Driven to Give program.
For every person who simply test-drives a new Lincoln vehicle and completes a short survey at Stuart Powell Ford Lincoln Mazda that day, Stuart Powell and Lincoln will donate $20 to Civil Air Patrol Cadet Squadron 122 - up to $6,000 if they get 300 test-drives in those 7 hours. PLUS, there will be a bonus vehicle which, if driven in addition to one of the other new Lincolns in that day’s lineup, will provide the group an opportunity for an additional $2,000 – based on $20 per test drive, up to 100 test-drives.
“One of the things that Mr. Powell was always most excited about at the dealership are test-drive fundraisers like these to benefit local non-profit groups”, says Robert Cunningham, Community Manager at Stuart Powell Ford Lincoln Mazda. “These events match up so well with his long-time efforts to give back to people and organizations in the area. Plus, these test-drives also offer individuals the opportunity to drive a new vehicle – a luxurious Lincoln vehicle in this case – and see the remarkable engineering and technology that is driving both Ford and Lincoln to lead the industry in quality, safety and technology - all with zero pressure to buy anything. Plus, with the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Squadron 122, we have a group that was very dear to Mr. Powell through his many years of leadership with our local airport“ said Cunningham.
The event, which will be held from 9am - 4pm on Saturday, June 16th, will feature new vehicles from the Lincoln Motor Company lineup. Civil Air Patrol Cadet Squadron 122 volunteers will assist test-drivers in this zero-pressure event with registration, test-drive ride-alongs, and providing each test-driver with a thank-you gift. “Dealership staff will have a very limited part of the event – available, as requested by test-drivers, to provide additional information about test-drive vehicles. And folks are not out any expense, while easily and quickly helping a great group like that of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Squadron 122”, says Cunningham.
To participate in this fun event and get behind the wheel of a new Lincoln vehicle on behalf of Civil Air Patrol Cadet Squadron 122, please visit Stuart Powell Ford-Lincoln-Mazda in Danville between 9am and 4pm on Saturday, June 16th.
No purchase is necessary. Test-drivers must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license and valid automobile insurance. There is a limit of one test-drive per street address. Each test-drive will last approximately 10 minutes.
