Detroit, Michigan, has been recognized as the “Motor City” the world over for its profound impact on the automotive industry. Lesser known is the tale of how Detroit was home to Studebaker automobile production for nearly three decades. Join renowned automotive historian Robert Casey, retired Curator of Transportation at The Henry Ford Museum, as he explores Studebaker’s Detroit automotive origins and its ties to the Henry Ford and his famous Model “T”. Mr. Casey will also discuss Studebaker’s decision to leave Detroit and centralize all automobile production in South Bend.
