PEDAGOGY OF YOGA
HOW WE TEACH · HOW WE LEARN · HOW WE PRACTICE

Three Weekends of Continuing Education for Yoga Teachers

Facilitated by Morgan Andrews

PEDAGOGY OF YOGA is Studio 34’s new offering for anyone who teaches yoga or has completed a yoga teacher training. Each weekend will strengthen teachers’ abilities in three areas: communicating, sequencing and assisting. We will practice teaching yoga together and hone our skills through a curriculum of fun activities, provocative discussions and fully embodied learning. Each weekend is a stand-alone 20-hour module that includes three full asana and two extra pranayama classes, and trainees may sign up for one, two, or all three weekends to fulfill Yoga Alliance’sContinuing Ed Credential.

Weekend 1 • April 27–29

COMMUNICATING YOGA
Communication involves all the senses. It includes the words we speak and how we say them, the way we hold and move our bodies, and the expressions in our hands and eyes and faces, as well as the way we inhabit spaces. This weekend will tune up our voices and vocabularies through the practice of pranayama, mantra, and a couple of theatre games. We’ll also explore non-verbal communication as a tool for teaching asana and beyond.
