Crosswords Open Mic - Nottingham's premier subterranean spoken word night - is going on a bit of an adventure for the Nottingham Poetry Festival!

We’re heading to Hockley’s most eclectic vintage and second-hand shop for a fantastic night of open mic, courtesy of the Sue Ryder charity.

Sue Ryder provides compassionate support to people with end-of-life and long-term care needs. They are a brilliant charity delivering health and social care services to local communities. You can find out more about them here: www.sueryder.org/

At Crosswords goes Sue Ryder, we’ll have plenty of open mic slots, plus a showcase for staff and service-users, who will . be speaking about the work that Sue Ryder does in Nottingham.

Arrive from 7:30pm on the night to book your short open mic slot. We like poetry, prose, storytelling, a cappella singing, and monologues! Or you can just come along to listen – everyone's welcome!

Entry is £2 per person and 100% of the takings will go to Sue Ryder.

NB: The venue itself is accessible, but toilet facilities in the shop are located on the first floor (stair only access). Please bear this in mind when planning your visit.
