If you haven’t heard, we are having another wonderful 48-hour weekend of prayer beginning Friday, April 13th at 6pm and concluding 6pm Sunday, April 15th night.

Jeannette and I invite you to join us in this time of seeking God and preparing our hearts for what He is going to do through us as a church in 2018. Like the last 48-hour weekend of prayer, you can sign up for a specific shift. A sign-up sheet has been posted on the wall outside the office door. We encourage everyone in the church to sign up for at least one spot. However, you are not limited to one spot. Trust me you, you will not regret being a part of this. There will be special stations set up throughout the fellowship hall to help assist you during your scheduled time as well as any time you desire to stop by and simply pray.

Also don’t forget you can join us in prayer at home as well during the weekend, which we completely encourage. However, if you are able to make it out to the church that would be ideal because the goal is to have someone in the church praying during every hour.

We also ask as you pray at this prayer weekend, for you to give special focus to the following:

1. Your relationship with God – Spend time listening to God and worshiping Him.

2. Our church’s relationship with the community – Pray for us our church family we embark on an epic year of groundbreaking outward focus mission and seek the fulfillment of our God-size vision.

3. The brokenness within our community – It has become very clear that the need for Christ is greater than ever in our very home. Pray for the lost and broken. Pray that they may be found and restored.

4. The mission of the Church of God throughout the world – Pray for our brothers and sisters who join us in our mission to make Jesus the Subject and seek to expand Christ’s Kingdom through faith, hope, and love.

Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons we have in our arsenal as Christians. May we, use it to its fullest effect. May we, truly believe the words of the Apostle John when he says this in 1 John 5:14-15Open in Logos Bible Software (if available),

“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.”

I believe God is going to do amazing things among us, and a major part of this is because we pray. I can’t wait to see what He is going to work through this weekend of prayer. I believe this weekend will be a defining moment for Sullivan Church of God and will be an experience that we will never forget.
