Back by popular demand, we are proud to announce another screening of the highly anticipated documentary Blue The Film. Join us for our ocean fundraising event, version 2.0! Get in quickly, as the tickets for our last screening sold out within days of release and spaces are strictly limited.
This film is a marine conservation documented journey educating us about the hidden crisis lapping on our shores. The film addresses the pressures our oceans face as a result of human impact and influence.
Half of all marine life has been lost in the last 40 years. By 2050 it is predicted there will be more plastic in our seas than fish. Featuring passionate advocates for ocean preservation, the film tackles themes of habitat destruction, species loss and pollution. Filmed in the oceans surrounding Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines and the USA, BLUE the Film looks at how the very nature of the ocean is being altered and highlights what can be done to help.
The screening will take place at Sustainable Surf Collab on Tuesday the 20th of March. Tickets $25 per person with the proceeds donated to Shark Girl Madison Stewart's upcoming Indonesian shark conservation project. Madison, who is featured throughout the film, will be a special guest at the screening to answer questions about the film and her projects.
To raise additional funds for the project, we will be running a raffle to win one of a selection of prizes, including, as the major prize, a framed photograph from Fran Miller Photography, award winning surf photographer. Other prizes have been donated by Panamuna Project and Sustainable Surf Collab.
This is a plastic free, family friendly event with snacks and drinks available for purchase.
