Want to moove and groove like they did in the 1940s? Have lots of fun, get and stay fit, make new friends and swing your legs to authentic and modern Swing music?

Swing Dancing Townsville brings you a Lindy Hop Absolute Beginners course: no experience needed & no partner required. Having said that, we do aim to have equal number of leaders and followers. Therefore, lovely followers, please try and find a dance partner if you can! No stress though if you can't.

From week 1 to week 4 we teach you the fundamentals of Lindy Hop dancing involving technique, leading and following and of course plenty of moves and fun. in week 5 we support you in developing your social dance skills, teach you one of the famous 1940s line dances, such as Shim Sham, or Jitterbug Stroll, and give you the opportunity to see individual support from our teachers.

6.30 pm to 7.30pm [5 x 1 hours]

The Suburban Bowling Club, 150 Charters Towers Road, Hermit Park

Course fee: $15 per lesson per person, $10 for students/pensioners, $5 for young dancers; Loyalty cards at discounted price available;

After 2x Absolute Beginner Courses (total of 10 lessons) you will be most welcome to attend the Beyond Beginners Lindy Hop class from 7.45pm - 8.45pm. Until then, you are invited to watch and be inspired by our more experienced dancers
