IKI is an experimental group of five Nordic singers and musicians based in Copenhagen. Working with the voice as the main instrument and improvisation as their artistic tool IKI has toured most of Europe since 2010.
As a part of the Jazzahead! Clubnight at Swissôtel Bremen they'll play two sets, at 21:00 and 22:20. It will be a window into IKI's world - a world made to get lost in!
Through the use of machines and pedals they manipulate their voices live on stage. The music, which is created in an intense here-and-now-moment together with the audience, goes from trance-like soundscapes to alluring avantgarde beats and structures. They've been compared to "a wordless Laurie Anderson", Jon Hassell, and "a crazy Björk without a soloist".
IKI released their 3rd album, ORACLE, in March this year, a co-operation with producer and electronic artist Mike Sheridan, adding new sound layers of mysticism to their experimental, hypnotic audio universe. In the past they've released the albums "IKI" (which won a Danish Music Award for best Vocal Release, 2011) and "LAVA" (2014).
