The North Kenwood Neighborhood Association is hosting a community dog walk on Wednesday, March 14th at 6pm. Join your fellow dog-loving neighbors in celebrating our beautiful city and friendly community. Plus, Daylight Saving Time will be in full effect, so we'll all get to enjoy later sunsets.

Our tentative route is as follows:
-Start at Sylvia C Boring Park
-North on 29th St N
-East on 14th Ave N
-South on 22nd St N
-Follow the path clockwise around the lake at Booker Creek Park
-West on 10th Ave N (through the parking lot)
-North on 25th St N
-West on 11th Ave N
-North on 29th St N
-Finish at Sylvia C Boring Park

Why Booker Creek Park? Many residents have become frustrated by the constant loitering of our city's homeless population in our park, and many people have chosen to stop using the park, citing safety concerns. The city is working hard to help our growing homeless population, but in the meantime the best thing we can do is use our parks frequently; an empty park is an invitation to loiter. Maybe we can turn this walk into a weekly event!

If turnout is really good, we may need to break into smaller groups to ensure that all the dogs get along. If there are enough participants interested in a "jog," then we can form a group for that. To accommodate different walking paces, we MAY stop to regroup along the route, but everyone is responsible for knowing the route (or the way home), is case they are seperated from others. Participants may choose to join or leave the group at any point along the route.

Membership in the North Kenwood Neighborhood Association is not required to participate. Street parking is limited, please consider arriving by foot. Please, no aggressive dogs. Attendees assume all risk. Please be responsible and pick up after your pet!
