Release and Efficiency (Contemporary Technique)

Level: Intermediate

Fridays; 7.30 – 9 pm
Dates: 13, 20, 27 April, 4, 18 May (5 classes)
*Note: There is NO class on 11 May.

Location: T.H.E Dance Studio at Block M, level 1 (next to the public carpark).
90 Goodman Road, Goodman Arts Centre, S(439053).
Course fee: $ 25/- per trial class or $90 for 5 classes,
First-time registrants will need to pay an additional $20 enrollment fee, which automatically entitles you to become a friend of T.H.E*.

Write to info@the-dancecompany.com or call us 6345 8454, as the course requires a minimum of 8 participants to start. Walk-ins are also welcome during class days - simply arrive 15mins before class starts to register and make payment with Billy!

This class focuses on release, movement efficiency and off-centre work. Within this frame, Billy will be working on fluidity of the muscles and joints, and how the dancers can achieve great things with minimal effort whilst maintaining sensitivity in the ‘subtle’ moments. Most importantly, if you are into funky tunes and want to have a great time then this is the class for you.

About the instructor:
Born in Australia, Billy Keohavong graduated on scholarship from New Zealand School of dance in 2015, and Ev and Bow Full Time Training Centre in 2012. Starting out as a hip-hop dancer specialising in Dancehall and House, he majored in contemporary dance while at school. Billy recently joined T.H.E, The Human Expression Dance Company, Singapore, in February 2016 as an apprentice. He has also worked with companies like Legs on the Wall and Shaun Parker and Company. Credits include M1 CONTACT Festival 2015 Singapore, Dance Academy Season 3, Channel 7’s Today Show, Tempo Dance Festival Auckland, World of Wearable Art Wellington, Mercedes-Bens Fashion Festival Sydney and World Supremacy Battlegrounds. Artists he has worked with include Ross McCormack, Ursula Robb, Michael Parmenter, Doughlas Wright, Malia Johnston, Eden Muholland, Sarah Boulter, Sarah Foster, Kathyrn Puie and Victoria Colombus.
