December 9. Play Resources and Materials. How to select and store play materials at home and outdoors. How to craft play invitations and extend play using open-ended materials.
January 13. Numeracy. Learn how to introduce, using playful learning, numeracy concepts for young children. Using found and easy-to-make materials parents and providers can use play to build a foundation for numeracy that will create joyful learning.
February 10. Literacy Development. Learn about how to support emergent writing in the home and in the classroom. This is presented as a pairing of last year’s literacy development program on supporting emerging readers.
March 10. Vivian Gussin Paley in the House! Exploring how to use Paley’s writings and techniques in the classroom and at home. Learn how to observe children’s play, how to journal with children, and how to add story acting to your parenting and teaching repertoire.
April 14. Fairy Gardens, Mud Kitchens, Sticks, and Stones. How to source and set up fairy gardens and mud kitchens. From small to really big ideas.
