Join us at Tawny Oaks on Thursday, April 12, to observe the American Woodcock mating ritual. Also known as the timberdoodle, the male woodcocks fly 250-300 feet in the air, performing a looping, twittering "sky dance" as part of their courtship to attract females. First calls and flights occur about 20-25 minutes after sunset and often can only be observed during a ~10 minute window before it gets too dark to see. Dress for the weather.
