Registration Fee: $15 (FREE for current GJ facilitators)

Many students come to school dealing with loss whether it is a death, divorce, incarceration, terminal illness, etc. These events in students’ lives can make it difficult for them to be ready for academics. This CEU event will give educators a background on how to work with bereaved students as well as provide a toolkit of activities to work with students. Also appropriate for grief group facilitators and other professionals who work with youth to build your skills and activity ideas.

1. Participants will recognize common childhood responses to a loss.
2. Participants will examine the role school personnel provide in assisting bereaved children.
3. Participants will participate in activities that can be helpful for grieving children.

This session meets the criteria of an approved continuing education program for mental health practice and social work in the state of Nebraska for 1.5 hours.
