On Thursday evening. April 12 at 7:00 PM, the Havurah Synagogue and Temple Emek Shalom join for the annual, shared commemoration of Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. The Director and some of the cast of the Collaborative Theater Project’s recent powerful performance of “The Diary of Anne Frank” will be on hand to talk about how putting on the play impacted them. Rabbi David Zaslow will share about his experience in Auschwitz last year as part of the March of the Living program, and Rabbi Joshua Boettiger will bring some “poetry of witness” from Paul Celan, Nellie Sachs, and others. There will be a memorial candle-lighting ceremony, songs and prayers in memory of the six million and more. The service will be held at Temple Emek Shalom, 1800 E. Main St. The event is open to all.
