Whether you are a Texas native or just moved here, come join the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum in discovering what makes Texas great at the Gone to Texas! Family Day Saturday, April 7th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
And what says Texas more than bluebonnets, cattle brands, and Texas Rangers? You’ll get to make your own Texas Ranger badge, paint the blooms on a bluebonnet, create a straw rocket, and make cattle brand clay imprints of your favorite brand. You can even try your hand at roping and lasso tricks just like an old cowpoke! The Temple Public Library, the Czech Heritage Museum, and the Texas Ranger Museum and Hall of Fame will also be here to share their Texas stories with our visitors. And don’t forget the dress up corner where you can hang out with an astronaut, be the “most wanted,” or try on some cowboy boots!
The Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum hosts a Free Family Day event on the first Saturday of each month. Attendance to the event is free. Regular admission charges apply to view the rest of the museum. The museum is located in the Santa Fe Depot at 315 West Avenue B in downtown Temple. The museum is open 10am – 4pm, Tuesday – Saturday.
