Through the lens of the three Jewish values of Tzedek (Justice), Gemilut Chassadim (Acts of Loving-Kindness) and Tzedakah (Charity), we look forward to engaging in non-partisan, respectful dialogue about 3 major social justice issues we are facing in this country: mass incarceration, addiction/recovery and immigration. We invite you to come and be a part of the conversation that helps us as a congregation to decide where our social justice priorities are and how we will take action upon them in the coming year.
On Sunday April 8th at 11am, immediately following Rabbi Terlinchamp’s Judaism 101, join us for the second session of this year’s Listening Campaign: “Courageous Conversations” on Addiction/Recovery and the opiod crisis.
Temple Sholom Chaver Jeff Rhein, MRC, PCC-s, LICDC-CS, will lead us in an interactive session on Addiction/ Recovery and the Opiod Crisis. Jeff is the Director of Alcohol & Drug Addiction Services for Mental Health Recovery Services of Warren & Clinton Counties and will share his experience and expertise. We hope to begin a dialogue about this issue that continues to plague a growing number of people both in our area and across the country. This is the second of three listening sessions. Please come and add your voice to this important conversation. We look forward to seeing you there!
