Student Art Contest

9th-12th graders are invited to participate in a contest to create a home decor item or functional household tool out of plastic "trash" in recognition of Earth Day 2018's 'End Plastic Pollution' campaign.

Much like the artisan partners of Ten Thousand Villages repurpose items in their environments, contestants are encouraged to utilize disposable plastics around them to create their designs.

Stop in and look around at the many items and materials found in our home decor for inspiration. A barrel of plastic disposable items has been generously donated by Art of Recycle in Ephrata to help contestants get started.

Contestants will display their designs from April 21st (Earth Day) through May 12th (Fair Trade Day) in Byler's Corner - our new education & community space in the Ephrata location of Ten Thousand Villages.

On May 12th we invite everyone to come out and cheer on our contestants as we celebrate Fair Trade Day and the talent of these creative high school designers.

Contestants should email their intent to participate, no later than April 15th to: darlene.hawkins@tenthousandvillages.com
