B.PAC cordially invites you to ‘My Padmanabhagar, My Manifesto’, a program to draft a manifesto for your neighbourhood on the 7th of April, 2018 from 11.am pm onwards at Tent Cinema, Nagathihalli School of Cinema, Banashankari, Bengaluru
Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC) is a citizen group working to improve governance in Bengaluru and to enhance the quality of life of every citizen. Set up in 2013, B.PAC seeks encourage participation of citizens in the democratic process. To this end, B.PAC has endorsed candidate and engaged with corporators as well as led campaigns such as “One Million New Voters” and “Go vote” to maximise voter turnout.
As the assembly elections draw near, B.PAC would like to create citizen's manifesto for each constituency in the city. One such program is “My Padmanabhnagar, My Manifesto’ to draft exclusive citizen’s manifesto for Padmanabhnagar. This is a platform for citizens from wide range of groups such as RWA, local schools, colleges, auto unions, clubs, apolitical associations, street vendors, hotel/commercial establishments, Pourakarmikas, parastatal agencies and others to come together to discuss their issues, share their concerns, and put forward thoughts and ideas for the development of their constituency.
What will the citizen’s manifesto be used for?
The citizen’s manifesto will be shared with the citizens of Padmanabhnagar constituency and the contesting candidates in the upcoming assembly elections. After elections, B.PAC will facilitate continued engagement between citizens and elected representatives to track the progress made on the issues identified. If required, B.PAC will also connect subject matter experts and organizations to find appropriate solution for the issues.
The manifesto will focus on the below themes:
* Mobility, Transport, Traffic & civic Infrastructure
* Waste management
* Water and Sanitation, Lake Preservation
* Pollution/ Environment, Air, Green Cover & parks
* Women and Child Safety
