The series will present Ayurveda wisdom, asana, and using our own wisdom through contemplative writing. In the four-week series there will be a focus on the Kapha constitution from Ayurveda and its elements which are earth and water. Ka means water and pha means flourishing. Living in the south during the spring there’s humidity, along with pollen, Daffodils, Oleanders and Dogwoods unfurling after a winter slumber. The Kapha constitution relates to this season. Some of the qualities of Kapha are heavy, oily, smooth and dense. One way to understand our relationship to the qualities is sensing into our own bodies and noticing if the qualities are relatable and then do they relate to our outer environment.
It is an integrated practice that will illuminate the inner body, and mind through asana, Ayurveda wisdom, and contemplative writing. The practice will be a progression of standing, lateral-side body asana, and hip openers.
