For the first half of this journey we will patiently and compassionately work with the connective tissue of the body: tendons, ligaments and fascia. Using long holds, semi-passive seated postures and the support of props, we will strengthen and lengthen these tissues and replenish synovial fluid in the joints.
During the second half of the journey we will counteract the effects of our stressful lives in a fully supported, completely passive, restorative yoga practice.
Please bring your yoga mat and we’ll provide all the yoga props such as blankets, blocks, bolsters, straps, etc.
ABOUT JESSIE MCCARTY:
During college Jessie McCarty really became aware of the power of yoga and the depth of the practice. She found that as she dove deeper into her practice that she was better equipped to handle life’s challenges and more empowered to take control of her circumstances. In 2014, she enrolled in a 200-hour training with her teacher and mentor, Bethany Vaughn where her life would completely change.
Since then Jessie has traveled around learning more about herself, the world and the life- changing practice of yoga. She has learned from wise teachers in many forms, ranging from incredibly skilled and insightful professional teachers to children with wisdom far beyond their years and. of course, the ultimate guru: Mother Nature.
Having always been drawn to “slow yoga,” in 2017 Jessie continued her formal education at Yandara Yoga Institute, gaining another 100-hour certificate in the Yin and Restorative styles.
