Originally from Oklahoma City, John Moak moved to Portland in 2005. He has played the trombone since childhood and his musical influences include Phil Woods, J.J. Johnson, Urbie Green, Woody Shaw, Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderly, Frank Rosolino, Carl Fontana, Clark Terry, Michael Brecker and Billl Watrous.

John regularly plays in a trio with bassist Dan Schulte and guitarist Chris Woitach. He also works with tenor saxophonist David Evans and drummer Todd Strait and is part of Chuck Israel’s projects.

For our Jazz Appreciation Month’s performance, The John Moak Quintet will feature David Events on tenor saxophone, Christopher Woitach on guitar, Tim Gilson on bass, Charlie Doggett on drums and of course John on trombone.

Music starts at 7:30 pm. Small dinner plate menu available 5 to 9 pm by Chef Alex Bourgidu. No cover.
