Zap Mama and their evolving musical compositions has created a diverse band of singers and musicians. This all-female quintet is led by Zaire native Marie Daulne. Zap Mama brings the worlds of polyphonic and Nu-soul music together in a harmonic mixture of infused African vocal techniques with Urban, Jazz and Hip-Hop influences.
"The voice is an instrument itself," says Daulne. "It's the original instrument. The primary instrument. The most soulful instrument, the human voice. Singing songs in French and English with African World Music Roots."
