The last couple of years have been tough on our gardens. They have endured freezes, droughts, and floods. It’s taken a toll on our soils, our plants, our patience, and our pocketbooks! This class will cover the techniques & the plants that can thrive in a Gulf Coast garden no matter what nature dishes out. There will be something for every part of your garden – sun, shade, wet, dry. You can create a garden that will survive summer’s heat with less watering, sail through winter without the need to cover everything, need pruning only once a year, and have fewer pest & disease issues overall. Spend more time enjoying your garden, and less time stressing about it!

MGCEU: Galveston, Harris, Waller

Angela Chandler is a lifelong gardener with a passion for learning and teaching. She tends a 1/2 acre garden in Highlands, Texas that includes ornamentals, fruits, a small experimental nursery, a flock of Buff Orpington chickens, and a Lab mix named Harley. Her gardening adventures would not be possible without her husband, Fred – always willing to help unload leaves, compost and help build beds. Angela is a member of the Harris County Master Gardener Association – Retired, and a member of the Garden Writer’s Association.
