HOLIDAY SPECIAL: 4 HOUR INTRO TO SOFT PASTEL
Instructor: Mary Jane Erard
Ages: Adults and Mature Teens
Date: Friday, December 28th, 2018 from 12:00pm - 4:00pm
Skill level: Absolute beginner with no experience to intermediate
Not sure if you are going to like pastels? Come in for special "holiday edition" intro workshop with pastel professional Mary Jane Erard. Unlike our regular four-hour pastel workshops, all materials will be provided. No experience is required and absolute beginners are welcome! This is a great opportunity for teens through adults to get out of the house after the Holidays and learn the basics of working with soft pastels. Mary Jane is absolutely delightful, and this workshop is appropriate for anyone regardless of artistic skill level or prior experience.
Mary Jane will provide an overview of how to blend pastels to achieve desired results, how to select colors for under-painting and explain the various "harnesses of pastels." After students are comfortable with using their pastels, she will then demonstrate and instruct students step by step to create the lovely poppy field pastel painting shown in the promotional photo. All materials will be provided, but if you have any soft pastels we encourage students to bring them so MJ can instruct how to best use the tools you already have in your studio.
