Cats on Yoga Mats

Get Directions

#var:page_name# cover

Breathing in poses, and whiskers on kittens
Sun salutations, and hip openin’ pigeons
Sweet purrs from kitty-cat, love that she brings
These are a few of my favorite things!

Are they your favorite things too? Alignment 8 Yoga & Cycle is
thrilled to bring you Midland’s second fundraiser featuring yoga + cats, benefiting the Humane Society of Midland County!

WHO: You! And cats!

WHAT: Two extra special yoga classes with cats roaming around. Who doesn’t love a nose-boop while doing updog or a warm purring kitty snuggling at your side in savasana?!

WHERE: The LOFT at Ashman Plaza 713 Ashman St, Suite B · Midland, MI

HOW: Show up and donate $20 to the HSOMC. Do some yoga.
Snuggle some cats... and maybe even adopt one of them.
{Please bring your own mat if you have one}

To ensure we have plenty of room for the human and feline yogis,
pre-registration is strongly encouraged. To reserve your spot,
please send us an email at Erica.Pina@hsomc.org. Choose one – or both – of the following sessions:

Vinyasa Flow with Keri Kenney
Join Keri Kenney, RYT-200 & certified trauma-informed instructor, as she leads a 60-min All levels Vinyasa Flow class surrounded by our purr-fect feline friends on the mats! Linking our breath to movement, we will flow with the felines, meditate with the meows, and practice with an intent of awareness and aid to our local animal shelter. Who knows, you may just find yourself a four legged friend!

Forrest Yoga with Sarah Nelson
Sarah Nelson, RYT-200, will lead a Forrest Yoga practice while the cats hang out with us. Named after its internationally-renowned creator Ana Forrest, Forrest Yoga is an introspective, challenging, and slower-paced practice that focuses on using long holds of poses paired with a strong connection with the breath to feel deeply into the body. All levels are welcome, and best of all, you'll leave with that warm fuzzy feeling that practicing yoga can bring – especially when there’s cats on your yoga mat!

Donations will be collected at the door. All proceeds from your $20 (per session) donation will go to the HSOMC to help them with operating costs so they can care for the animals awaiting adoption at the shelter. Most (if not all) of the cats mingling with us will be adoptable too, so you might even meet your own new furry friend while you practice yoga! If you’d like to do more to help HSOMC, additional donations or gift cards to pet stores or Meijer will be accepted at the event. Please BYOM (bring your own mat) if you have one. We look forward to seeing you for this pawsome fundraiser!
