**Join us for this very special walk accompanied by Patrick Lynch, who's new book "A Field Guide to Long Island Sound" is a lavishly illustrated and long-overdue guidebook to the rich natural history of Long Island Sound and its coastlines, a region beloved by millions of people. On the walk with Jerry, Patrick will talk about the unique features and habitats of LI Sound, and Hammonasset in particular, including the creatures that inhabit it.
Copies of Patrick's book will be available in the shop.
Hammonassett Beach State Park in Madison, is widely regarded as the premier birding area in Connecticut. Approximately 240 species of birds occur there annually, in its diverse habitats of marsh, open water, woodland, grassland and shoreline.
Beginners are welcome.
No need to pre-register.
Bring binoculars (rentals available).
Meet each Saturday at The Audubon Shop, 907 Boston Post Rd in Madison at 7:50 a.m.
