Get Directions

#var:page_name# cover

In this training, participants will learn about the importance of cultural competency in bereavement work and will be provided with best practices for serving the needs of diverse clients experiencing grief and loss. Specifically, trainers will share information about the NASW standards for cultural competence, recent trends in cultural and religious diversity in the United States, and scholarly research on the role of individual and community-based rituals in healing. The presentation will take a deeper dive into specific cultural and religious communities' views on death, grief, and mourning, and local representatives from some of these communities will share their perspectives on a speaker panel and will take questions from participants.
