Acclaimed singer-songwriter Robbie Schaefer, co-founder of the successful indie/folk band Eddie From Ohio returns to the Mid-Shore to teach kids at Easton Elementary the joy of creating music as part of the Avalon Foundation’s Young Audiences Youth Outreach Program.

Starting on Monday, April 9, Schaefer’s residency at the elementary schools will last for three sessions, when he’ll be working with 2nd graders to write and practice new songs that they will perform in the Avalon Theatre in two free concerts on Friday, April 13.

One concert for students will be at 9:30 a.m.; the other, open to families and the public, will be at 7 p.m.

The Young Audiences Youth Outreach Program is the centerpiece of the Avalon Foundation’s programing for children. The Foundation works with the Talbot County Board of Education on creating programming that enhances current curriculum, offers in-school residencies with world-class performers like Robbie Schaefer, and presents six free bus-in performances for students during the school year.
