Pleasure as political: A celebration of non-productive making and kindness as currency

This evening is an attempt to connect at the margins of current powerful systems through community, accessibility, and fun.

In a society where capital reward is of highest value, we are dedicating an evening to considering actions of ENJOYMENT as RESISTANCE. In creating for the sake of creating you are resisting the current placement of value on busyness, constant productivity and actions that produce commodities or currency. There is power in realizing one’s autonomy and this power is exacerbated when shared with others.

We invite you to come create and to share the joy of sharing creations while considering alternative systems of trade that are less capital driven and bring emphasis to the gift of cooperation and sharing.

Drop in between 7pm-10pm to participate in:

-art trade
-art supply trade amateur life figure drawing
-open mic
-crafting/art making
