We are excited to announce this year's March for Science Atlanta event: Rally For Science!
Why rally rather than march? While marching creates visibility around an issue and is energizing for the community, speakers at a rally can provide information and tools for attendees to take away and use to continue their activism beyond the day’s event. MFS Atlanta’s goal for the 2018 Rally for Science is to advocate for the responsible use of science and data in public policy, especially relating to gun violence and climate change, improve communication among scientists and the public, and increase public engagement with science.
The rally will be held on Saturday April 14th from 1-4 pm at The Bakery, rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we will move the rally into the largest indoor space at The Bakery. In addition what will be a fantastic line up of engaging speakers, we are hosting an Expo, where attendees can visit with other organizations for information and demonstrations. We are constantly adding more exhibitors so watch this space! Food and drink will be available from some of Atlanta's finest food trucks and vendors. So, put some marker to poster board and come ready to demonstrate your support for science!

The Bakery is near the West End MARTA station - see our photos for directions. We will be running a shuttle from West End MARTA to The Bakery; elderly science supporters, people with limited mobility, and families with small children will be given priority.
Bike racks will be set up so you can lock up your wheels if you'll be peddling in.
Plenty of parking ($5 per car) will be available at the very close by Murphy Park Fairgrounds (880 Woodrow St SW, Atlanta, GA 30310). Please DO NOT park in nearby neighborhoods - we want to be as low impact as possible for those who live there! Parking at The Bakery will be limited, and restricted to staff and exhibitors, and those with accessibility needs.
The Bakery is wheelchair accessible, there will be an ADA Portable Restroom along with the other portapotties, and we will have an accessible area near the stage at the rally.
Would you like to sign up for a volunteer shift? Even just one hour is a big help!
