When is Shred Day? We have two Shred Day events this year. The first will be at our Sonora branch on Wednesday, April 18th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the second will be at our 1200 Veterans Blvd. location in Del Rio on Thursday, April 19th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What materials can be shredded? Examples of acceptable shredded material are paper, file folders, spiral notebooks, CDs, DVDs, VHS, electronic media, and credit cards.
What materials will not be accepted? Specifically three-ring binders will not be accepted. A representative from the shredding company will be onsite to answer any additional questions about materials.
How much can I shred? Due to volume restraints, each person is allowed 1 box of shredded material. A box is the size of a paper box, approximately 17 inches long, 11.5 inches wide, and 8.5 inches deep.
What company is providing the shredding service? Secured Document Shredding Inc.
Do I have to sign a release to have materials shredded? Yes, we ask that you sign a release with Secured Document Shredding Inc. allowing them permission to shred your materials. Each person/box will require a release.
Do I have to be present while my materials are shredded? Yes, we ask that you remain onsite while your materials are shredded.
Will the truck fill up? It’s a possibility. Use of the shredder is based on space availability. If the truck reaches capacity before 2 p.m., the event will end at that time.
