Mark J. Lee & The Saddle Kings
Full band show Sunday 29th April 12.30pm
Mark J. Lee is a Devon born songwriter and performing musician. Steeped in traditional country and old time sensibilities, Mark J. Lee's sound consists of resonant, raw tenor vocals, Appalachian Folk and Country style guitar with cinematic, compelling, story yup lyrics. Lee draws influence from country legends such as Hank Williams, Townes Van Zandt, and George Jones as well as more modern pioneers including Daniel Romano, Jonny Fritz and Margo Price.
Prior to going solo in 2017 Lee had been at the centre of Bristol's roots music scene for many years playing guitar, mandolin and piano for Emily Breeze, Beth Rowley and Screamin' Miss Jacksons Big Band amongst others as well as fronting Alt Country Rock'n'roll outfit Howlin' Lord.
From Berlin dive bars to Glastonbury Festival to late night sessions around a kitchen table. Mark J. Lee has a history of captivating audiences with his haunting, lonesome vocals and tales of hard luck and heartbreak set again an austerity bitten Westcountry backdrop.
