Southeast Tour: Leg 2
Alaska born sing-songwriter Hope Griffin has a passion for musical storytelling. Best known for her angelic vocals, gut-wrenching ballads and string-filled accompaniments, this songstress will take you on a journey down roads both familiar and new. Hope moved to Asheville, NC after acquiring her bachelor's degree in classical voice in 2007. Since her move to Asheville, NC she has found her own voice as a Folk/Americana artist, swiftly winning the hearts of any who dare to listen. She's released an album every year since 2015, songs all highlighting her catchy beats, poignant imagery, and strong lyrical prowess. Switching from soulful ballads to high-energy blues with ease, Hope's performance gives a little something for everybody. In 2016 & 2017, she consecutively snagged the "Best Singer-songwriter" and "Best Acoustic Folk Band" titles, putting her at the top of her league in her region. Now days she can be seen touring the US with her dynamically talented trio partners: Asheville-bred guitarist Andrew Thelston & NJ native and cellist Jamie Leigh Bennett. Well known in the area for his own songwriting talents and guitar virtuosity, Andrew uniquely displays his evolving talent as a multi-instrumentalist. As stated by Steve Wildsmith from The Daily Times: "In her capable hands, [the guitar] becomes an expression of longing, love, sorrow, joy and heartache, and when her partner, Jamie Leigh, adds in cello parts…the results are transcendent ones.” Together with her velvety vocals, Andrew's intuitively keen guitar fills, and Jamie Leigh's expressive cello lines, this trio promises to bring a highly visceral musical experience to the stage. A show you will surely not forget - and a hard excuse to miss.
