This 3 hour workshop makes it simple to understand the Bhagavad-gita’s presentation of the traditional path of yoga, wherein one leaves the world behind, ventures to the forest, sits alone and goes within. Although the speaks of disciplines and accomplishments that may seem unreachable for the common person, it opens a door to how the highest goals of yoga can be available to anyone.

The qualifications of the mind of the yogi are described along with the external practices of how and where he or she should sit, eat, sleep, etc. Rigorous internal practices are also described, as well as the perfection stage wherein one may see the true Self by the pure mind, free’s themselves from the karmic reactions of their past, and relish a joyous state, situated in boundless transcendental happiness. This internal state transforms an spiritualizes the yogi’s external vision of the world.

In a interesting twist, Arjuna, having heard the description, expresses his doubt that he could be successful on this path, as it is so difficult to control the mind. Krishna ends the chapter by reveling what is the highest yogic path, giving Arjuna great hope.
