Earth Day is coming up, and join us as we commemorate it with our next reading discussion.

In 2007, the Union of Concerned Scientists published a report detailing how ExxonMobil copied tactics from cigarette companies to manufacture uncertainty about global warming/climate change. Now, over a decade later, the same techniques are being used again to push for deregulations on air quality.

For this discussion we will be reading the one-page Executive Summary of the UCS study and a piece by ProPublica detailing that push for deregulation as well as how that fits into a broader pattern of misinformation campaigns.

The study (and its Executive Summary) can be found here:

This event is free and open to the public. The Black Cat House is an all-ages, drug and alcohol free space. We are also wheelchair accessible.
