Many different colour and weave effects can be created by alternating different colours in warp and weft. The simplest of these use two contrasting colors in equal proportions. When woven in small scale across the width and length of a fabric, they create designs that are very wearable and make a lovely man's or lady's scarf - perfect for a gift.
Three different but closely related colour and weave patterns, each with its own variations, will be discussed: houndstooth, checks, and log cabin. Class will cover various ways of warping the loom with more than one color, shuttle handling techniques, and managing two colours on the loom.
Cost is $40 plus materials. Looms are not provided but rental looms are available in store for $10/week.
Pre-registration is required. An early bird discount of 10% off will be applied to class fees for registrations paid in full before April 1.To register, send a message via Facebook, email email@example.com, call the shop at 902-270-3247, or stop by in person at 48 Prince St.
