Melbourne-born Perth transplant, Grant Larseny is hitting The Boston in Northbridge on June 1st to launch his debut album, Dirty Laundry.
For fans of The Smith Street Band, Australian accents, and weekly choices between a Friday night out with your mates and staying in to avoid an argument with your partner, Grant Larseny is what Billy Bragg might sound like if he played a bunch of Frenzal Rhomb songs reimagined by Paul Kelly.
Recorded during the week between Christmas and New Years in 2017, and scheduled around a two-month-old baby, Dirty Laundry’s ten tracks address a range of real world issues, from recreational drug use, to the challenges of being a single parent, to various musings on modern relationships.
All tied together with a healthy dose of self-deprecating introspection and Larseny’s unique brand of story telling, Dirty Laundry is honest, relatable, and familiar, with a little twist of lemon.
Joining him at The Boston will be good mates The Bob Gordons, local legends Lionizer, pop/rock upstarts I Call Val, and scene stalwart Dave De Niro, rounding out a jam packed night that’s sure to heat things up for the first night of Winter.
Dirty Laundry will be available to buy at the show, and from Grant Larseny’s Bandcamp from June 1st.
