Join us as we present the replica, or what's called a maquette, of the sculpture for the new National WWI Memorial at a fundraising reception on April 10th at Brixton in DC. Requested donation is $25.
The sculptor, for the National WWI Memorial to be built at Pershing Park in Washington, D.C., recently returned from Peter Jackson's studio in New Zealand where he made a stunning 12 foot replica of the current memorial design. The lead designer for the memorial, Joe Weishaar, won the international design competition as an un-licensed 25 year old architect in training and has moved to DC to oversee the construction. He will join us at the event and update our guests on the memorial's progress.
The National WWI Memorial seeks to honor the 4.7 million people who served in uniform during World War I and it must be built entirely with donated funds.
WWI transformed how our country is organized economically, politically and socially. We are now in the centennial of this exemplary chapter of American service and sacrifice and need your help in building this memorial.
