THE DEVIL & FATHER AMORTH - 7PM - April 22, 24, 25, 27 and 29.
Years after he changed the landscape of American filmmaking with 1973's THE EXORCIST, director William Friedkin moves from fiction to fact with this new documentary. What began as a brief conversation between Friedkin and Father Gabrielle Amorth - the head Exorcist for the Diocese of Rome for over 30 years - soon transformed into an once-in-a- lifetime opportunity, as Amorth agreed Friedkin could film an exorcism ceremony for a painfully afflicted womean. A startling and surprising story of the religion, the ritual and the real-world victims involved in possession and exorcism.
THE EXORCIST (Original Theatrical Version, 121 Min) 8:30 PM - April 22nd and 25th
One of the most influential and celebrated horror movies ever made, this tale of an exorcism is based loosely on actual events. When young Regan starts acting odd -- levitating, speaking in tongues -- her worried mother seeks medical help, only to hit a dead end. A local priest , however, thinks the girl may be seized by the devil. The priest makes a request to perform an exorcism, and the church sends in an expert to help with the difficult job.
THE EXORCIST (“Version You've Never Seen”, 135 Min) 8:30PM - April 23rd and 29th
The extended director's cut of the Exorcist that debuted theatrically in 2000, reintroducing the world to the terror and intrigue of one of the greatest horror stories ever told. Expanded with enhanced sound design, picture and featuring a number of reinstated scenes including the notorious “Spider-Walk” sequence.
