Founded in 2013 by cousins George and Nathan James, The Jacobites By Name have entertained audiences with their voices and instruments in the traditional music of Scotland and Ireland. They take pride in singing many traditional tunes in the Scots language, and in giving historical context to the music they play.
Nathan James has been playing whistles and bagpipes for many years, and is well versed in the history of the early Scottish and Irish music. As a former radio host with his own traditional music program, he brings a wealth of knowledge to our audiences along with his wonderful voice. George James is a former band director with many years of teaching experience. George’s musical talents lend an authentic voice to the music, and tenor harmonies on many of songs the band plays. George is the Entertainment Coordinator with the Taste of Scotland and Celtic Festival, held annually in Franklin, NC.
This will be a can't miss night of music!
