All are invited to a community meeting to give input and discuss Iowa City’s Climate Action Plan.
The meeting will happen at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, in Meeting Room A of the Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn St.
People are encouraged to share their perspectives, ideas and feedback during interactive exercises. Members of the Climate Action Steering Committee will be present and available to explain the work they are doing.
The Climate Action Steering Committee, assembled from a variety of community groups and organizations, is tasked with developing Iowa City's first ever Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, which will include ways to achieve community-wide greenhouse gas reduction targets, in addition to creating a more liveable, equitable and resilient Iowa City.
Widespread community input is vital for this effort to succeed. We encourage all members of the community to attend. Committee members will also be engaging with local organizations, groups and neighborhoods throughout the fall.
More specifics about the community input meeting will be released in the coming weeks.
